Hi all,
Thanks as always for your awesome and amazing support. We're not quite to the halfway mark of the campaign but we are already just a few pledges away from TRIPLING our initial funding goal and unlocking the first of several FREE BONUS ADVENTURES for you with TheFiddler's Lament by Greg Vaughan, a haunted welcome home that goes very, VERY wrong!
We also just posted up our first interview with the terrific Paco Jaen of GMS Magazine, who interviewed Jason Nelson, Greg Vaughan, and Tom Knauss with a wide-ranging array of questions about the project, gaming in general, and a few surprise questions to keep us on our toes!
We've got another interview coming up tomorrow with CameronDay and we'll be posting up the links on our Kickstarter page once that one is ready, but we also wanted to send out the first link directly to you so you can see our happy smiling faces talking about this fantastic project!
Thanks to each and every one of you and see you on the other side of $30,000!
Frodo of the NINE fingers...

OK, so maybe it wasn't Frodo and his fingers. Instead it was PatrickHaugh that pushed us over the line to our NINTH stretch goal, unlocking another new piece of art for the climactic final encounter of the adventure saga at the end of chapter 6! We're getting our next art order sent out tomorrow, as we get ready for what looks like many new art pieces to come, but we also wanted to show off a little work in progress to just give you a feel for one of the new cover pieces in process already!
Don't worry, I'm sure he's VERY friendly! Like all THINGS that live in basements, right? :)
We are excited and delighted to take aim at the $30,000 mark next for our TENTH stretch goal... which is a free adventure for EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU! If you're backing for the AP, you get a free adventure for your chosen game system(s), plus notes from Greg on how to implement these bonus adventures and connect them (and other adventures like them) to expand your Aegis of Empires campaign!
As always, we thank each and every one of you (including RoyRydbeck, our loud and proud backer #300!) for your support and invite you to continue to spread the word to your friends who also play DnD 5E or Pathfinder 1st or 2nd Ed! Please do shout and share on social media, and if you see a post from us chime in with a "This is gonna be great" or "Looking forward to it" or anything you wanna say! The ALGORITHM GOBLINS MUST BE APPEASED!!!

First week in the books and already EIGHT stretch goals down!!!

Hi everybody and thanks as always for your support. I begin just about every update that way because YOU are the reason this project is already such a success, and we should never miss the opportunity to offer our appreciation for you making this dream a reality!
As is our wont, we throw a special shout-out to GregTraeger, whose pledged pushed us over the $26,000 mark and unlocked our new cover art for the Deluxe Compilation, for which we shared the art order in our last update! Next up is another special piece of interior art for the final cataclysmic encounter at the end of book #6! It's so top secret I can't even tell you what it is yet, but someone's cranky uncle is DEFINITELY involved, as well as someone with far too many eyes in all the wrong places!
And once we clear that mark up at $30,000 is a bonus FREE PDF ADVENTURE for every backer of the full compilation, Greg Vaughan's horror-infused beginner adventure The Fiddler's Lament, with special notes on how to integrate it with the larger Aegisof Empires storyline! This won't be the last free adventure either, as coming up at $40,000 we have ANOTHER free adventure coming your way, this one by award-winning author Jason Nelson! And of course we'll have a variety of special goals in between coming your way!
Meanwhile, we're happy to share another amazing art piece for this adventure saga, featuring a special and sizzling surprise coming your way in the Aegis of Empires adventure path. But is he even the BIG BOSS, or is he, like Mongo, "just pawn in game of life"?
Lucky SEVEN stretch goals!!!

Thanks to everyone as always for pushing on through and making this project keep growing and growing! Rebecca pushed us over the $22,000 line to get our last new cover art for the individual modules, and PhilStepp unlocked our first new interior art goal, the sinister SaggingMan, who plays a truly nefarious role in adventure #4, Legend of the Burning Star by Steve Helt! I won't spoil any more than his name, but I will tell you that he has a truly SPECTACULAR HAT!
The individual new cover art for the separate adventures will also feature in the interior of the compilation, as each illustrates a key scene in the adventure and each also will serve as the chapter splash page for each section of the deluxe compilation. The next stretch goal up is the compilation cover illustration itself from the artistic stylings of Legendary veteran artist Evan Surya Nugraha. For a quick preview of what you'll see on the cover of this book, check out Greg's *very* detailed art order!
A caravan of human and dwarven explorers, armed and armored but outfitted for exploration rather than war makes its way through a dust storm in a Great Plains type settingbut like a Marco Polo group. They lead their horses and shield their eyes with cloaks and scarves etc. They are generally coming towards the viewer though trailing off and disappearing into the windblown dust. In the foreground some adventurer types are standing around and examining the top of a stone statue or column that protrudes above the sand. The viewpoint is from this piece of stonework that protrudes from the ground and one of the adventurers, a scholarly looking type, maybe a wizard reaches towards the stonework with a look of astonishment on his face as if there is some great discovery just out of view.
Thanks for pushing us up to 2-1/2 times our funding goal and counting. We might just triple our funding goal in the first week! Keep spreading the good word and making this book ever-more beautiful for every one of you!!!
More stretch goals in view!!!

Thanks to all of you for your amazing support of Aegis of Empires! You've pushed us to the brink of our SIXTH stretch goal already in just our fourth day, which was as far as our stretch goal list reached when we launched, but as we've crashed through those so quickly we've added a new batch of stretch goals to come, including new internal art featuring some of the key NPCs of the adventure saga, which will include new portraits of heroes and villains like the mysterious LostPrince and the sinister SaggingMan as well as new action scenes to make these adventures really pop!
And speaking of adventures... starting at $30,000 all backers will be getting free bonus PDF adventures to flesh out and fill in adventure opportunities in the Lost Lands, starting with the horror-themed introductory adventure TheFiddler's Lament by Greg Vaughan, perfect to help set a bit of a haunting tone for early-career adventurers. These adventures will be available for all three systems. If you back for any system, you get the adventure for your chosen system. If you back for multiple systems, you get the bonus adventures for ALL systems!
Sunday is Mother's Day in the USA, but no matter where you are we hope you're able to give the moms in your life a hug, a card, a call, a text, an email, or a fond remembrance and a bit of love with the people who brought us into the world, and if you're like me who might have bought your first RPG books that got you started in the hobby! We won't have any updates tomorrow as we celebrate in our own way (with a special shout-out to LG Business Director Rachel Ventura for an awesome mother's day with the twins), but we look forward to celebrating with you on Monday as we keep on rocketing higher and higher!
Please do continue to help spread the word about Aegisof Empires to your friends and fellow gamers. We look forward to more awesome previews to come and salute all of you for making this project possible. For now, I leave you with a horribulous new friend to drive your heroes crazy!
